All measurements are in inches.

Important noteSizes may vary slightly (± 1″), and colors may differ subtly from the product images depending on lighting and screen display.

Because every piece in the Playback archive is vintage, sizing runs how it ran when the piece was made, which is not always how modern brands run today. A 90s Ralph Lauren "Large" is different from a 2024 Uniqlo "Large." Use the measurements below (not the tag) to pick your fit.

How to measure

Use a soft measuring tape and measure the garment while it lies flat.

Chest

Armpit to armpit, straight across.

Length

Top of the collar (back) to hem.

Sleeve

Shoulder seam to cuff.

Waist (bottoms)

Top of waistband, side to side. Double the number.

Inseam (bottoms)

Crotch seam to hem.

Rise (bottoms)

Top of waistband to crotch seam.

Leg opening

Width across the bottom of the leg hem.

Fit notes for vintage

  • 90s and Y2K pieces tend to run boxier and slightly shorter than modern equivalents.
  • Carhartt workwear runs true to size but heavy.
  • Ralph Lauren polos and sweaters tend to run large in the body, short in the sleeve.
  • Lacoste piqué polos run slim through the torso.
